The boarding house is located at the most prominent location in the city centre of the capital region of the black forest in Freiburg im Breisgau. Each room has a centre piece in which the necessary functions of the space like bathroom, toilet and kitchen are located.
The rest of the space is designed openly, however giving the possibility to structure the space in living and sleeping area by using curtains. The materiality of the space pays tribute to the region of the black forest, mainly using spruce tree and different shades of green.
